Ingredients
- 1 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
- 2 teaspoons baking powder
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1 cup white sugar
- 1/2 cup butter, room temperature
- 2 large eggs, room temperature
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 3/4 cup milk, room temperature
Instructions
1
Preheat your oven to the desired temperature of 350 degrees Fahrenheit, or equivalently 175 degrees Celsius.
2
Next, take a moment to prepare the baking pan that will hold your final product. Lightly spray it with cooking spray or grease it with butter, then line the bottom of the pan with parchment paper, wax paper, or dust it lightly with flour.
3
Sift together three essential dry ingredients - flour, baking powder, and salt - in a large mixing bowl to ensure they are evenly blended.
4
In another large mixing bowl, combine two key ingredients - sugar and butter - using an electric mixer. Beat them together until they reach a light, fluffy consistency. Then, one at a time, add eggs to the mixture and beat well after each addition to prevent lumps from forming.
5
Add a pinch of flavor with vanilla extract, mixing it in until well combined.
6
Slowly incorporate the flour mixture into your batter in 1/2 cup increments, alternating with milk and gently folding until just combined.
7
Pour the prepared batter into your waiting baking pan.
8
Bake your creation in the preheated oven for 30 minutes or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.
9
Allow your baked goods to cool in the pan for 10 minutes before carefully transferring them onto a wire rack to continue cooling completely.
