Buffalo Grilled Wings
Ingredients
  • 3 pounds chicken wings, separated at joints, tips discarded
  • 1 cup Louisiana-style hot sauce
  • 1 (12 fluid ounce) can or bottle cola-flavored carbonated beverage
  • 1/4 teaspoon cayenne pepper, or to taste
  • 1/4 teaspoon ground black pepper, or to taste
  • 1 tablespoon soy sauce
Instructions
1
Preheat your grill to a medium heat setting, allowing it to reach the optimal temperature for grilling.
2
Mix together hot sauce, cola, cayenne pepper, black pepper and soy sauce in a large pot to create the marinade; add chicken wings to the mixture, ensuring they are fully coated.
3
Position one side of the preheated grill with the pot containing the wings, bringing the mixture to a gentle simmer.
4
Use tongs to carefully remove the wings from the sauce and place them directly on the preheated grill; cook for approximately 8 to 10 minutes, or until they have developed a light char on both sides.
5
Repeat the process of transferring the wings to the grill and returning them to the sauce, continuing to cook until the chicken is fully cooked and easily detaches from the bone.
6
The wings should be cooked for a total of around 50 minutes, at which point the sauce has thickened and the chicken is tender.
7
You can serve the wings in a variety of styles, either as sloppy-style wings or directly off the grill for drier wings.
