Ingredients
- 3 cups self-rising flour
- 3 tablespoons white sugar
- 1 teaspoon onion powder
- 1 teaspoon dried dill, or to taste
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 1 (12 fluid ounce) can beer, room temperature
- 4 ounces cubed Cheddar cheese, or to taste
Instructions
1
Preheat your oven to 350 degrees Fahrenheit or 175 degrees Celsius.
2
To begin, lightly coat a 9 or 10 inch cast iron skillet with a thin layer of oil.
3
In a spacious mixing container, combine the self-rising flour, sugar, onion powder, dill weed and salt.
4
Next, slowly pour in the beer, stirring constantly until all dry ingredients are fully incorporated.
5
Be gentle when mixing to avoid over-aeration of the beer, preserving its natural texture.
6
Fold in the cheese cubes at this stage.
7
Place the skillet in the preheated oven and bake for 45 to 60 minutes, or until the top bounces back when lightly pressed.
8
The bread should rise significantly above the edge of the pan, indicating perfect doneness.
