  • 3 3/4 cups cherry pie filling
  • 1 package yellow cake mix
  • 1/2 cup brown sugar
  • 1/2 cup butter, cut in small pieces

Preheat your oven to a high temperature, specifically 375 degrees Fahrenheit or 190 degrees Celsius. To prevent any sticking issues, cover the inside of your Dutch oven with a layer of aluminum foil.

Next, spread an even and uniform layer of cherry pie filling across the bottom of your Dutch oven. Then, sprinkle a generous amount of cake mix over the pie filling to create a solid base. Follow this by adding a layer of brown sugar on top, which will add a rich flavor to your dessert. Finally, break the butter into small pieces and dot them evenly across the top of the brown sugar layer.

Once you've completed these steps, place the lid securely on top of your Dutch oven. Then, bake it in a preheated oven for an extended period of time, specifically 45 to 90 minutes, or until the top is golden brown and your dessert is cooked through.
