  • 1 pound carrots, cut into 2 inch pieces
  • 1/4 cup packed brown sugar
  • 2 tablespoons butter, diced
  • 1 pinch salt
  • 1 pinch ground black pepper

Submerge carrots in a container filled with salted water; initiate boiling process. Gradually decrease heat to a minimal simmer and cook until carrots reach desired level of doneness, approximately 15 minutes. Discard excess water by draining and reposition carrots in the pot.

Position the pot with carrots over the most subdued heat setting available. Introduce brown sugar, butter, salt, and pepper into the pot by stirring them in thoroughly. Allow mixture to reach a state where sugar is visibly bubbling, taking around 3 to 5 minutes. Present the dish hot and immediately.
