Ingredients
- 8 slices bacon
- 1/3 cup sunflower seed kernels
- 1 large head broccoli, cut into bite-size pieces
- 1 cup seedless red grapes, halved
- 1/3 cup diced red onion
- 1 cup mayonnaise
- 3 tablespoons apple cider vinegar
- 2 tablespoons white sugar
- ground black pepper to taste
Instructions
1
Begin by placing the bacon in a large skillet and cook over high heat, stirring frequently until it reaches a perfectly browned state and becomes crispy, approximately 10 minutes. Remove the cooked bacon from the skillet with a slotted spoon and place it on paper towels to drain excess grease.
2
Cut 6 slices of the cooked bacon into smaller pieces and mix it with sunflower seeds in a resealable plastic bag, setting it aside for later use.
3
Next, combine the broccoli, grapes, and onion in a large bowl to create the base of your salad.
4
In another bowl, whisk together mayonnaise, vinegar, sugar, and pepper until well combined. Add the remaining slice of cooked bacon to the dressing mixture and fold it in gently.
5
Pour this delicious dressing over the broccoli mixture, making sure everything is well coated. Cover the bowl with plastic wrap and refrigerate for a period of time to allow the flavors to meld together, about 2 hours.
6
Just before serving, sprinkle the bacon-sunflower seed mixture over your salad and mix it in thoroughly.
