Ingredients
- 1 (15 ounce) package pastry for a 9 inch double crust pie
- 4 cups fresh blackberries
- 1 1/2 cups white sugar
- 1/2 cup all-purpose flour
- 1/4 teaspoon salt
- 1 tablespoon butter
Instructions
1
Preheat your oven to 325 degrees Fahrenheit, or 165 degrees Celsius.
2
Prepare a baking vessel by lining it with one of the pie crusts, fitting snugly into its 9 inch depth.
3
Combine the blackberries in a spacious container. In this bowl, blend together the sugar, flour, and salt until well combined. Distribute these dry ingredients evenly over the blackberries, stirring to coat them uniformly. Fill the pie crust with this mixture and top it off by adding a pat of butter.
4
Cover the filling with the other pie crust, securing its edges to those of the bottom crust through a combination of pressing and crimping.
5
Using a sharp blade, cut an opening in the top crust to allow steam to escape during baking.
6
Bake for 1 hour within your preheated oven, or until the top crust has achieved a rich brown color. Allow the pie to cool almost completely before serving, as this enables the filling to firm up sufficiently.
