Brazilian Egg Custard
Ingredients
  • 1 cup white sugar
  • 1 cup shredded coconut
  • 1 tablespoon butter, softened
  • 5 large egg yolks
  • 1 large egg white
Instructions
1
Preheat your oven to the desired temperature of 350 degrees Fahrenheit (175 degrees Celsius).
2
Mix together sugar, shredded coconut, and softened butter in a large bowl using an electric mixer until you achieve a smooth blend. Introduce egg yolks and egg whites into the mixture, then continue to beat until everything is fully incorporated.
3
Carefully pour the prepared mixture into a 9-inch pie dish, making sure to fill it evenly.
4
Position the pie dish within a larger roasting pan, filling the bottom of the roasting pan with enough boiling water to reach roughly halfway up the sides of the pie dish.
5
Place the roasting pan in your preheated oven and bake until the custard reaches a golden brown color on top, taking approximately 30 minutes.
6
Remove the pie from the oven and allow it to cool down to room temperature, which should take around 30 minutes.
7
Serve the pie immediately or refrigerate it until you're ready to serve.
