Brazilian Chocolate Truffles
Ingredients
  • 1 (14 ounce) can sweetened condensed milk (such as La Lechera®)
  • 2 tablespoons powdered cocoa (such as Nestle®)
  • 2 tablespoons unsalted butter
  • 1 cup chocolate sprinkles, or as needed
Instructions
1
Combine the sweetened condensed milk, cocoa powder, and 2 tablespoons of unsalted butter in a saucepan; heat over medium-high until the mixture reaches boiling point.
2
Reduce the heat to a low setting and continue cooking, stirring frequently, until the mixture reaches a thick, gelatinous consistency that pulls away from the sides and bottom of the pan when tilted, approximately 10 to 15 minutes.
3
Remove from heat and allow the mixture to cool to a comfortable temperature, roughly 1 hour.
4
Scoop small portions of the cooled brigadeiro mixture and shape into balls using your hands, which have been lightly greased.
5
Prepare a shallow plate by sprinkling chocolate decorations evenly over the surface. Dip and then roll the brigadeiros in the chocolate sprinkles to coat them evenly.
