Ingredients
- 2/3 cup white sugar
- 1 cup corn syrup
- 2 tablespoons bourbon whiskey
- 3 eggs
- 1/3 cup melted butter
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1 cup coarsely chopped pecans
- 1 cup semi-sweet chocolate chips
- 1 (9 inch) refrigerated pie crust
Instructions
1
Preheat your oven to a high temperature, specifically 375 degrees Fahrenheit or 190 degrees Celsius.
2
Take a large mixing bowl and combine sugar, corn syrup, bourbon, eggs, melted butter, and salt in a single motion until you achieve a smooth, velvety consistency. Mix thoroughly to eliminate any lumps or unevenness. Introduce the pecans and chocolate chips into the mixture, gently folding them in to avoid crushing or breaking.
3
Carefully place the prepared pie crust into a baking dish, filling it with the sugar mixture. If you wish to minimize browning around the edges of the pie, cover them with strips of aluminum foil.
4
Place the pie in the preheated oven and bake until the center is solid, taking approximately 50 minutes to achieve this.
5
Once done, remove the pie from the oven and allow it to cool before serving.
