Blackened Cajun Snapper
Ingredients
  • 2 tablespoons paprika
  • 1 tablespoon salt
  • 2 teaspoons onion powder
  • 2 teaspoons garlic powder
  • 2 teaspoons cayenne pepper
  • 1 1/2 teaspoons ground white pepper
  • 1 1/2 teaspoons ground black pepper
  • 1 teaspoon dried thyme
  • 1 teaspoon dried oregano
  • 4 (6 ounce) fillets red snapper
  • 1 1/2 cups butter, melted
Instructions
1
Combine paprika, salt, onion powder, garlic powder, cayenne pepper, white pepper, black pepper, thyme, and oregano in a small bowl to create a flavorful seasoning blend
2
Preheat a large cast iron skillet over extremely high heat, allowing it to reach scorching temperatures after approximately 10 minutes of heating.
3
Dip fish fillets into the warm, melted butter and generously coat each fillet with the prepared seasoning mixture.
4
Carefully place fish fillets in the sizzling hot skillet and pour an additional tablespoon of butter over each fillet; cook until the underside of the fillet develops a dark, caramelized crust, lasting around 3 to 5 minutes. Flip the fillets over and pour another tablespoon of butter over each fillet; continue cooking until the fish is tender and flakes easily with a fork, approximately 2 minutes more.
