French-Style Blackberry Clafoutis
Ingredients
  • 1 teaspoon butter, or as needed
  • 1 (6 ounce) container fresh blackberries, or more to taste
  • 7/8 cup milk
  • 2 eggs
  • 3/4 cup all-purpose flour
  • 7 tablespoons white sugar
  • 1 pinch salt
  • 1 tablespoon brown sugar, or more to taste
Instructions
1
Preheat your oven to the desired temperature of three seventy-five degrees Fahrenheit, or one ninety-zero degrees Celsius.
2
Next, take a nine-inch baking dish and give it a generous amount of butter to coat the surface evenly.
3
Add a handful of blackberries to the prepared baking dish, making sure they're spread out in an even layer.
4
In a separate bowl, whisk together milk and eggs until well combined. In a separate container, mix flour, sugar, and salt until smooth, then gradually add the wet ingredients to create a uniform batter.
5
Pour the prepared batter over the layer of blackberries in the baking dish, making sure to cover them evenly.
6
Place the baking dish on the middle rack of your preheated oven and bake until the eggs start to solidify, approximately twenty-five minutes.
7
Once the eggs have started to set, sprinkle a generous amount of brown sugar over the top of the baking dish.
8
Bake for an additional twenty minutes, or until the surface is golden brown and the blackberries are tender.
