Ingredients
- 1 pound ground bison
- 1/2 cup panko bread crumbs
- 1 egg
- 3 tablespoons Worcestershire sauce
- 4 dashes hot sauce (such as Tabasco®)
- 1 pinch granulated garlic
- 1 pinch ground black pepper
- olive oil cooking spray
- 4 slices American cheese
- 4 hamburger buns, split and toasted
Instructions
1
Heat the grill to a high temperature before preparing the dish. Lightly brush the grill grates with oil to prevent sticking.
2
Mix together bison, bread crumbs, egg, Worcestershire sauce, hot sauce, garlic, and pepper in a large bowl to create the main ingredients. Shape into 4 patties using your hands or a spatula. Place the patties on a baking sheet and cover with foil to keep them fresh, refrigerating for about 15 minutes until chilled.
3
Spray the patties with a non-stick cooking spray to make them easier to handle. Cook on the preheated grill until they are hot and slightly pink in the center, about 5 minutes per side. Add cheese slices on top of each patty and continue cooking until the cheese is melted, about 2 minutes more. Use a food thermometer to check if the center of each patty reaches 160 degrees F (70 degrees C).
4
Assemble the patties by placing them between toasted halves of a bun and serve immediately.
