Biscuits and Gravy Bake
Ingredients
  • cooking spray
  • 1 (10 ounce) can refrigerated biscuit dough (such as Pillsbury Grands!®)
  • 1 (1 pound) bulk pork sausage
  • 1 1/2 cups shredded Cheddar cheese, divided
  • 6 large eggs
  • 1/2 cup milk
  • salt and ground black pepper to taste
  • 1 1/2 cups cold water, or more as needed
  • 1 (1.5 ounce) package pork gravy mix
Instructions
1
Preheat your oven to a high temperature of three fifty degrees Fahrenheit or one seventy five degrees Celsius.
2
Next, take some cooking spray and lightly cover a 9x13-inch baking dish to prevent food from sticking.
3
Place the bottom of your prepared baking dish with biscuits in it, making sure they're evenly spread out.
4
Heat a large frying pan over high heat on your stovetop. Cook and stir sausage in the hot pan until it's nicely browned and broken up into tiny pieces, taking anywhere from five to seven minutes; then drain off any excess fat.
5
Once the sausage is cooked, scatter it all over your biscuit layer and top with a generous helping of one cup Cheddar cheese.
6
In a separate bowl, whisk together eggs, milk, salt, and pepper until well combined. Pour the egg mixture over your cheese layer.
7
Mix water with a packet of gravy mix in a saucepan; bring the mixture to a rolling boil. Reduce the heat and let it simmer until the gravy thickens, taking around one to two minutes; if you prefer a thinner gravy, add some more water.
8
Pour the gravy mixture over your egg layer and sprinkle the remaining half cup of Cheddar cheese on top.
9
Finally, pop your casserole into a preheated oven and let it cook until the eggs are fluffy and the cheese is bubbly, taking roughly thirty minutes.
