Ingredients
- 1 (2 pound) loaf processed cheese, cubed
- 1 cup milk
- 1 (12 ounce) package ground pork sausage
- 1 white onion, chopped
- 1 (24 ounce) jar medium salsa
- 1/2 (15 ounce) can black beans, drained and rinsed
- 1 bunch green onions, chopped
- 1 (12 ounce) package tortilla chips
Instructions
1
In a slow cooker set to high heat, combine the processed cheese and milk. Cover and stir occasionally as it heats up until the cheese has fully incorporated into the milk, creating a smooth blend.
2
Next, heat a medium-sized skillet over high heat and add the ground pork sausage. Cook until it's evenly browned, breaking up any clumps as you go.
3
Once the sausage is cooked, add the white onion to the skillet and stir constantly until it reaches a translucent state. Remove the skillet from the heat source and let it cool for a moment.
4
Now, combine the cooked sausage mixture with the cheese mixture in the slow cooker. Reduce the heat to low and stir occasionally as it continues to cook for approximately 1 hour, allowing all the flavors to meld together.
5
Finally, mix in the salsa and black beans into the slow cooker mixture before serving. Garnish with green onions and serve alongside tortilla chips.
