Ingredients
- 1/2 cup frozen blueberries
- 1/4 cup frozen strawberries
- 1/4 cup frozen raspberries
- 1/4 cup raw sugar
- 1/4 cup water
- 1 tablespoon unsalted butter
- 1 tablespoon unbleached all-purpose flour
Instructions
1
Combine the sweet and tart flavors of blueberries, strawberries, and raspberries by mixing them with sugar in a small saucepan. Add water to the mixture and melt butter into it, creating a smooth consistency. Place the saucepan over high heat and bring the mixture to a rolling boil, allowing the berries to release their juices and soften, approximately 5 minutes.
2
Gradually decrease the heat to a moderate level and continue to gently simmer the mixture, stirring occasionally, for an additional 5 minutes. This will help to intensify the flavors and thicken the mixture.
3
Once the mixture has cooled slightly, remove it from the heat source. Allow it to sit for a short period of time, permitting the flavors to meld together and the mixture to thicken to a consistency similar to that of a chutney or thick jam. If the mixture is still too runny, you can add a small amount of flour to help thicken it further.
