Beef Steaks with Onion Gravy
Ingredients
  • 1 pound ground beef
  • 1/4 cup bread crumbs
  • 1 egg
  • 1 teaspoon Worcestershire sauce
  • 1/2 teaspoon seasoned salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon onion powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1/8 teaspoon ground black pepper
  • 1 tablespoon vegetable oil
  • 1 cup thinly sliced onion
  • 2 tablespoons all-purpose flour
  • 1 cup beef broth
  • 1 tablespoon cooking sherry
  • 1/2 teaspoon seasoned salt
Instructions
1
Collect all necessary components for preparation.
2
Combine ground beef, breadcrumbs, egg, Worcestershire sauce, salt, onion powder, garlic powder, and pepper in a large container until they are fully incorporated. Shape into 8 spheres and flatten them into patties.
3
Heat oil in a large frying pan over medium heat. Introduce the patties and onion into the skillet, cooking until they are nicely browned on both sides, approximately 4 minutes per side. Remove the beef patties from the skillet and set them aside to remain warm.
4
Sprinkle flour over the onions and leftover oil in the skillet. Utilize a fork to mix the flour with the remaining ingredients, scraping any residual beef bits off the bottom of the skillet as you stir. Gradually blend in beef broth and sherry, adding seasoned salt to taste. Simmer the mixture over medium-low heat until it thickens into a rich gravy, around 5 minutes.
5
Decrease the heat to low and reinsert the patties into the gravy, covering the skillet. Continue to simmer until the beef is fully cooked through, approximately 15 minutes.
