Ingredients
- 1 1/2 pounds flank steak
- German stone ground mustard, to taste
- 1/2 pound thick sliced bacon
- 2 large onions, sliced
- 1 (16 ounce) jar dill pickle slices
- 2 tablespoons butter
- 2 1/2 cups water
- 1 cube beef bouillon

Slice the flank steak into thin strips, approximately 6 millimeters in thickness and 7.5 centimeters wide.

Apply a liberal amount of mustard to one side of each strip, seasoning to taste. Combine cooked bacon, caramelized onions, and pickle slices on top of each strip, then shape into a cylindrical form. Secure the roll with kitchen twine or toothpicks.

Melt butter in a skillet over medium heat and sear the rolls until they develop a golden brown color.

Add 2 1/2 cups of water to the skillet, followed by a bouillon cube. Stir until the cube is fully incorporated and then continue to simmer the rolls for roughly 1 hour.
