Ingredients
- 1/2 cup beef broth
- 1/4 cup hoisin sauce
- 2 tablespoons reduced-sodium soy sauce
- 2 tablespoons sesame oil, divided
- 1 tablespoon oyster sauce
- 1 tablespoon cornstarch
- 1 teaspoon brown sugar
- 1 1/4 pounds New York strip steak, thinly sliced into bite-sized pieces
- 2 tablespoons butter
- 2 (10 ounce) bags frozen broccoli rice
- 1 teaspoon minced garlic
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 1/2 teaspoon ground black pepper
- 1 teaspoon toasted sesame seeds, or to taste
- 1/8 teaspoon red pepper flakes, or to taste
Instructions
1
Combine the beef broth, hoisin sauce, soy sauce, 1 tablespoon of sesame oil, oyster sauce, cornstarch, and brown sugar in a bowl until the mixture is smooth and free of lumps.
2
Toss sliced steak with the remaining 1 tablespoon of sesame oil in a separate bowl, ensuring it is evenly coated.
3
Heat butter in a large skillet over medium-high heat. Add broccoli rice, minced garlic, salt, and pepper to the pan. Cook for 5 minutes, stirring occasionally to prevent burning.
4
Transfer broccoli rice to individual serving bowls.
5
Add the beef to the skillet. Cook over medium-high heat, stirring constantly and frequently, for 5 minutes or until it reaches the desired level of doneness. Pour the prepared sauce over the beef and continue cooking for 5 more minutes, or until the sauce has thickened to your liking.
6
Place the beef on top of the broccoli rice. Sprinkle sesame seeds and crushed red pepper over the dish for added flavor and texture.
