Ingredients
- 2 tablespoons vegetable oil
- 1/4 cup onion, finely chopped
- 1 clove garlic, minced
- 3/4 cup ketchup
- 1/3 cup vinegar
- 1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce
- 2 teaspoons brown sugar
- 1 teaspoon dry mustard
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
- 1/4 (5 ounce) bottle hot pepper sauce
- 1 (3 pound) chicken, cut into pieces
Instructions
1
Preheat your cooking vessel by heating the oil in a skillet over medium heat. Allow the onion and garlic to soften, then proceed with adding the ketchup, vinegar, Worcestershire sauce, brown sugar, dry mustard, salt, pepper, and hot sauce to the skillet. Stir until well combined.
2
Introduce a new element of flavor by bringing the mixture to a boil, then reduce the heat to a lower setting and let it simmer for 10 minutes, stirring periodically. Remove from heat and set aside.
3
Prepare the grill by preheating it to high heat. Make sure to lightly oil the grill grate in order to prevent sticking.
4
Carefully place the chicken on the grill and brush it constantly with the prepared sauce. Cook for 8 to 15 minutes on each side, depending on the size of the piece, until it reaches a satisfactory level of doneness. Discard any remaining sauce.
5
At this stage, the chicken should be cooked to perfection and ready for serving.
