Ingredients
- 1 1/2 cups white sugar
- 1/2 cup butter
- 3 eggs
- 2 1/2 cups sifted all-purpose flour
- 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
- 1 teaspoon baking soda
- 1 teaspoon hot water
- 2 cups dates, pitted and chopped
- 3 cups chopped walnuts
Instructions
1
Preheat your oven to its highest temperature setting, which is 350 degrees Fahrenheit or 175 degrees Celsius.
2
In a moderately sized bowl, use an electric mixer to combine the butter and sugar until they form a smooth paste. Then, one egg at a time, mix in the eggs thoroughly after each addition.
3
In a separate container, dissolve the baking soda by submerging it in hot water. Add this mixture to the egg mixture and blend until well combined.
4
Mix the flour into the egg mixture until it is fully incorporated, taking care to avoid lumps. Next, add the cinnamon and stir until well blended.
5
Add the dates and walnuts to the mixture, stirring until they are evenly distributed throughout.
6
Drop spoonfuls of the dough onto a baking sheet that has been lightly coated with cooking spray. Bake in the preheated oven for 10 to 15 minutes, or until the cookies are golden brown.
