Bavarian Apple Torte with Cheesecake Filling
Ingredients
  • 3/4 cup butter or margarine, softened
  • 1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1/2 cup white sugar
  • 2 (8 ounce) packages cream cheese, softened
  • 1/4 cup white sugar
  • 2 eggs
  • 3/4 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 3 cups apples - peeled, cored and sliced thinly
  • 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • 1/2 cup white sugar
Instructions
1
Preheat your oven to the desired temperature of 350 degrees Fahrenheit (or equivalently, 175 degrees Celsius).
2
Mix the butter with a small amount of vanilla extract and all-purpose flour in a bowl, combining them to form a uniform mixture. Then press this mixture into the bottom of an ungreased 9-inch springform pan.
3
In a separate, larger bowl, blend the cream cheese with sugar until they are fully incorporated. Next, add in eggs and a tiny amount of vanilla extract to create a smooth mixture.
4
Then, combine the sliced apples with cinnamon and sugar in another bowl. Distribute this apple mixture evenly over the cream cheese mixture.
5
Place the springform pan on a baking sheet and then put it in the preheated oven.
6
Continue to bake until the center of the cake is set, requiring a cooking time of 50 to 65 minutes.
