Barbecue Shredded Beef Sandwiches
Ingredients
  • 4 pounds boneless chuck roast
  • 2 tablespoons butter
  • 1 onion, chopped
  • 12 ounces chile sauce
  • 3 tablespoons distilled white vinegar
  • 3 cloves garlic, minced
  • 2 tablespoons brown sugar
  • 2 tablespoons Worcestershire sauce
  • 1 teaspoon mustard powder
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon freshly ground black pepper
  • 1/8 teaspoon ground cayenne pepper
Instructions
1
First, preheat the oven to a moderate temperature of 325 degrees F (165 degrees C).
2
Next, position the roast in a spacious covered container and subject it to heat from the oven until it becomes tender, easily breakable, and falls apart, approximately 2 hours.
3
Then, melt butter in a large skillet over an intermediate heat setting. Introduce the onion and cook until it becomes transparent.
4
After that, combine the chili sauce and vinegar with the onion in the skillet. Fill an empty bottle of chili sauce with water, shake it thoroughly, and pour the liquid into the skillet. Add garlic, brown sugar, Worcestershire sauce, mustard powder, black pepper, salt, and cayenne pepper to the mixture. Cook over low heat, stirring frequently, until the sauce thickens.
5
Following that, shred the beef using two forks and blend it with the sauce. Allow the mixture to simmer for 30 minutes.
