Banana Pudding Poke Cake Delight
Ingredients
  • 1 (18.25 ounce) box yellow cake mix (such as Duncan Hines®)
  • 1 cup water
  • 1/2 cup vegetable oil
  • 3 eggs
  • 2 cups cold milk
  • 2 (3.5 ounce) packages instant banana pudding mix
  • 1 (8 ounce) container frozen whipped topping (such as Cool Whip®), thawed
  • 1 cup vanilla wafer crumbs (such as Nilla®), or to taste
Instructions
1
Preheat your oven to 350 degrees Fahrenheit, or 175 degrees Celsius.
2
Next, take a 9x13-inch baking dish and lightly grease it with butter or cooking spray before dusting it with flour to prevent the cake from sticking.
3
In a large mixing bowl, combine the cake mix, water, vegetable oil, and eggs. Use an electric mixer to blend these ingredients together until they form a smooth batter; then, pour the mixture into your prepared baking dish.
4
Place the baking dish in a preheated oven and bake for 23 to 28 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the center of the cake comes out clean.
5
In another bowl, whisk together cold milk and pudding mix until the mixture is soft, smooth, and thickened. This should take about 2 minutes.
6
Using a wooden spoon with a long handle, poke holes into the top of the cake to allow the pudding mixture to penetrate evenly.
7
Pour the prepared pudding mixture over the top of the cake, spreading it out evenly to cover the entire surface.
8
Next, spread a layer of whipped topping over the pudding mixture. Finally, sprinkle a layer of vanilla wafers over the whipped topping to complete your dessert.
