Ingredients
- cooking spray
- 3/4 cup sifted all-purpose flour
- 1 tablespoon unsweetened cocoa powder
- 1/4 teaspoon salt
- 1 pinch salt
- 6 tablespoons salted butter
- 5 ounces semisweet chocolate
- 1 ounce bittersweet chocolate
- 1 cup packed light brown sugar
- 2 eggs, lightly beaten
- 1/2 large banana, mashed
- 1/2 cup chopped toasted walnuts
- 1/2 cup semisweet chocolate chips
Instructions
1
First, preheat your oven to the desired temperature of 325 degrees F (165 degrees C).
2
Next, take a metal baking pan measuring 8x8 inches and spray the bottom with cooking spray to prevent sticking.
3
Then, combine flour, cocoa powder, and a pinch of salt in a bowl and set it aside for later use.
4
In a separate saucepan, melt butter over low heat. Once melted, add semisweet and bittersweet chocolate to the saucepan and stir until they are fully incorporated.
5
Allow the mixture to cool for 2-3 minutes before proceeding with other steps.
6
Simultaneously, use a hand mixer to combine brown sugar, eggs, and mashed banana in a bowl until they are well combined. This should take about 1 minute.
7
Add the cooled chocolate mixture to the banana mixture and stir until everything is well combined.
8
Mix the flour mixture slowly into the chocolate mixture, stirring just enough to combine.
9
Fold in chopped walnuts and chocolate chips at this stage.
10
Spread the batter evenly into the prepared baking pan.
11
Bake in a preheated oven for 35-40 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out with moist crumbs.
12
Remove the baked goods from the oven and let them cool completely in the pan on a wire rack for at least 2 hours before cutting.
