Ingredients
- 1 cup water
- 1 cup soy sauce
- 1 cup white sugar
- 1/4 cup pineapple juice
- 1/4 cup vegetable oil
- 1 tablespoon minced fresh garlic
- 1 tablespoon minced fresh ginger
- 3 pounds chicken wings or drumettes
Instructions
1
Combine water, soy sauce, sugar, pineapple juice, vegetable oil, garlic, and ginger in a large glass or ceramic container until the sugar has fully incorporated. Add chicken wings to this mixture and mix well, ensuring they are evenly coated. Cover the container with plastic wrap and refrigerate for at least 1 hour.
2
Heat your oven to 350 degrees Fahrenheit (175 degrees Celsius). Grease multiple baking pans and set them aside for use later.
3
Carefully remove the chicken wings from their marinade, shaking off any excess liquid before placing them into the prepared baking pans. Discard the remaining marinade.
4
Place the chicken wings in the preheated oven and bake until they are cooked through and the glaze has developed a rich, even brown color, approximately 1 hour. To verify that your chicken wings are cooked, insert an instant-read thermometer into the center of one of the wings; it should read at least 165 degrees Fahrenheit (74 degrees Celsius).
