Ingredients
- 1 1/2 pounds lean ground beef
- 1 (1.25 ounce) package taco seasoning mix
- 1 (16 ounce) can refried beans
- 1 (16 ounce) jar salsa
- 2 cups shredded Monterey Jack cheese
Instructions
1
Preheat your oven to a medium-hot temperature of 325 degrees Fahrenheit (or 160 degrees Celsius if you prefer metric measurements).
2
In a substantial, heat-resistant skillet with a capacity of at least 3 quarts, subject the ground beef to high heat and sear it until browned. Remove excess fat by pouring off the liquid. Introduce dry taco seasoning into the skillet and mix it well.
3
Scoop the browned ground beef into a 9x13 inch rectangular dish made of glass. Spread a layer of refried beans over the meat, followed by a dollop of salsa. Finish with a generous sprinkling of shredded cheese.
4
Place the dish in your preheated oven and bake for approximately 20 to 25 minutes, or until the cheese is melted and bubbly.
