Baked Sweet Yams
Ingredients
  • 6 small yams
  • 6 tablespoons butter
  • 6 teaspoons honey
  • 3 teaspoons white sugar

Preheat your oven to a medium-high temperature of 250 degrees Fahrenheit (which is equivalent to 120 degrees Celsius).

Next, take a non-stick cooking spray and lightly cover the bottom of a 9x13-inch rectangular baking container.

Fill a large, deep pot with water and add a pinch of salt to it. Place the pot over high heat until the water reaches its boiling point.

Once boiling, cook the yams in the hot water until they become soft and easily pierced with a fork, approximately 10 minutes. Drain the excess water.

Place the cooked yams into the prepared baking dish. Using a sharp knife, carefully make a horizontal incision along the length of each yam.

Add 1 tablespoon of softened butter to the center of each slit, making sure it's evenly distributed.

Put the yams in the oven and bake for 5 to 10 minutes, or until they turn a golden brown color.

Before serving, place 1 teaspoon of pure honey into each yam. Finally, sprinkle a pinch of sugar over the top of each yam to add a touch of sweetness.
