Ingredients
- 1/2 pound ground beef
- 1 large zucchini, ends trimmed
- 1 (16 ounce) jar spaghetti sauce
- 1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese
- 1/2 cup bread crumbs
- 1/2 (6 ounce) can sliced black olives, drained
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 cup shredded mozzarella cheese
Instructions
1
Firstly, set the oven to its highest temperature setting, which is 350 degrees Fahrenheit. Alternatively, you can use the Celsius scale and set it to 175 degrees.
2
Next, heat a large frying pan over a medium-high heat source. Cook and constantly stir ground beef in the hot pan until it reaches a browned and crumbly state, taking anywhere from 5 to 7 minutes.
3
After that, remove the excess fat and grease from the pan using a drainage system. Transfer the cooked ground beef into a large mixing container.
4
Then, cut zucchinis in half lengthwise and use a spoon to carefully remove the flesh, leaving about 1/2 inch of shell around each zucchini. Chop the scooped-out flesh and add it to the beef mixture in the mixing container.
5
Combine spaghetti sauce, Parmesan cheese, bread crumbs, black olives, and garlic into the beef-zucchini mixture until everything is well mixed together.
6
Now, stir in the ingredients until they form a cohesive whole. Lightly fill both halves of zucchini with the filling mixture. Place the filled zucchinis into a baking dish; cover it tightly with aluminum foil.
7
Finally, bake the zucchini halves in the preheated oven for 45 minutes. Remove the baking dish from the oven and adjust an oven rack to a position that is about 6 inches away from the broiler's heat source.
8
Uncover the baking dish and sprinkle 1/2 cup of shredded mozzarella cheese over each zucchini half. Place the baking dish under the broiler and cook until the cheese is browned and bubbling, taking about 5 minutes.
