Baked Quince with Cinnamon and Red Wine
Ingredients
  • 3 quince, unpeeled, washed, halved and cored
  • 18 whole cloves
  • 1 1/2 cups water
  • 1/2 cup port wine
  • 3 cinnamon sticks
  • 1/3 cup white sugar
  • 1/3 cup heavy cream, whipped
Instructions
1
Preheat your oven to the desired temperature of 375 degrees Fahrenheit or 190 degrees Celsius.
2
Next, insert three cloves into each half of the quince and position them cut-side down in a roasting dish. Add water, wine, and cinnamon sticks to the pan; sprinkle sugar evenly over the quince.
3
Bake the fruit in the preheated oven until it reaches a lightly browned color, approximately 35 to 40 minutes. Rotate the quince and continue baking until it becomes tender, roughly another 10 minutes.
4
Remove the roasting pan from the oven and allow it to cool slightly. Transfer each half of the quince to a plate, then drizzle with a small amount of juice collected from the roasting pan and top it off with a dollop of whipped cream.
