Ingredients
- 1/2 pound extra lean ground beef
- 1/2 cup chopped onions
- 1/2 cup chopped green peppers
- 1 (24 ounce) jar spaghetti sauce
- 1 (10 ounce) tub PHILADELPHIA Italian Cheese and Herb Cooking Creme, divided
- 1 cup KRAFT Shredded Mozzarella Cheese, divided
- 3 cups hot cooked penne pasta
Instructions
1
Firstly, preheat your oven to the desired temperature of 350 degrees Fahrenheit (or 175 degrees Celsius for those using metric measurements).
2
Next, heat a large non-stick frying pan over the medium-high heat setting. Cook and stir the beef, onions, and peppers in this hot pan until the beef is nicely browned and crumbly, taking around 5 to 7 minutes.
3
Subsequently, add the spaghetti sauce, 3/4 cup of cooking cream, and 1/2 cup of mozzarella cheese to the pan. Continue stirring until the mozzarella has melted and combined with the other ingredients, which should take about 2 to 3 minutes.
4
At this stage, mix in the cooked pasta until it's evenly coated with the sauce.
5
Now, transfer the pasta mixture to a 2-quart casserole dish. Top it with the remaining 3/4 cup of cooking cream and 1/2 cup of mozzarella cheese. Cover the dish with aluminum foil.
6
After that, bake this mixture in the preheated oven for 15 minutes. Remove the foil and continue baking until heated through, which should take about 5 more minutes.
