Baked Chicken Taquitos

  • 1 (10 ounce) can chicken chunks, drained
  • 1/4 cup shredded Cheddar cheese
  • 5 drops hot pepper sauce (such as Tabasco®)
  • 12 corn tortillas

Preheat the oven to its highest temperature setting, which is 350 degrees F (175 degrees C).

Next, lightly coat a 9x13-inch baking dish with a thin layer of oil or cooking spray to prevent sticking.

In a separate bowl, mix together the chicken and cheese until well combined.

Then, add a few dashes of hot pepper sauce to the mixture and stir until you reach your desired level of spiciness.

In a dry skillet, warm tortillas one at a time over medium heat until they become pliable and slightly flexible, approximately 10 seconds per side.

Once the tortillas are warm, place about 1 heaping tablespoonful of the chicken mixture onto half of a warmed tortilla.

Tightly roll the tortilla into a compact package, starting from the filled side of the tortilla.

Place the rolled taquito seam-side down in the prepared baking dish. Repeat this process with the remaining tortillas.

Finally, bake the taquitos in the preheated oven until they are golden brown and crispy on the outside, to your liking, approximately 20 to 30 minutes.
