Baked Beef Tagliata
Ingredients
  • 3 large cloves garlic, minced
  • 2 teaspoons finely chopped fresh rosemary
  • 1 teaspoon chopped fresh oregano
  • 1 tablespoon sea salt, divided
  • 2 teaspoons ground black pepper, divided
  • 2 (1 1/2) pounds sirloin steaks, about 1 1/2-inches thick
  • 1 tablespoon extra-virgin olive oil
  • 6 cups loosely packed arugula
  • 2 teaspoons extra virgin olive oil
  • 1 teaspoon lemon juice
  • 1/4 lemon, sliced
  • 2 ounces Parmesan cheese, shaved
Instructions
1
Preheat your oven to 350 degrees F (175 degrees C) by placing a cast-iron skillet inside and allowing it to heat up.
2
Mix together minced garlic, dried rosemary, oregano, 1 1/2 teaspoons of salt, and a pinch of pepper in a small bowl. Generously apply the spice blend to both sides of your steaks.
3
Take the skillet out of the oven and add 1 tablespoon of oil to it. Place your steaks in the skillet and put it back into the oven, where they will cook until nicely browned on both sides. Flip your steaks halfway through the cooking time, which should take around 20 minutes in total.
4
Once the steak is cooked to your liking, remove it from the skillet and let it rest on a cutting board for 10 minutes. Slice the steak into thin pieces.
5
Arrange arugula leaves on a serving platter and top them with your sliced steak. Drizzle 2 teaspoons of olive oil over the arugula, followed by a squeeze of lemon juice. Finish with a sprinkle of Parmesan cheese.
