Ingredients
- cooking spray
- 1 pound lean ground beef
- 2 (15 ounce) cans tomato sauce
- 12 ounces brown gravy
- 1/2 cup half-and-half
- 1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese
- 3 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 teaspoon dried oregano
- 1 teaspoon dried basil
- 1 (16 ounce) package dry ziti pasta
- 1 cup shredded mozzarella cheese
Instructions
1
Begin by preheating your oven to a high temperature of 350 degrees Fahrenheit or 175 degrees Celsius. Next, take some cooking spray and grease a rectangular baking dish measuring 9 inches by 13 inches.
2
In the meantime, heat up a large cooking vessel or casserole dish over medium-high heat on your stovetop. Cook the ground beef in this hot vessel until it is nicely browned and crumbly, taking around 5 to 7 minutes.
3
Add a variety of ingredients to the pan with the ground beef, including tomato sauce, gravy, half-and-half, Parmesan cheese, garlic, oregano, and basil. Let these ingredients simmer together for 30 minutes.
4
Simultaneously, fill a large pot with water and bring it to a boiling point. Add some salt to the water, then stir in ziti pasta and return the pot to a boil.
5
Continue cooking the ziti over medium heat until it is tender yet still has some bite, taking around 10 to 12 minutes.
6
Drain the cooked ziti and then stir it into the meat sauce you prepared earlier.
7
Next, spread the ziti mixture evenly into the prepared baking dish.
8
Top this with a layer of mozzarella cheese.
9
Finally, place the prepared baking dish in your preheated oven and let it bake until it is bubbly, taking around 20 to 30 minutes.
