Bacon-Wrapped Filet with Lobster
Ingredients
  • 4 (8 ounce) filet mignon (beef tenderloin)
  • salt and pepper to taste
  • 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 4 slices bacon
  • 1/2 cup butter, divided
  • 1 teaspoon OLD BAY® Seasoning
  • 8 ounces lobster tail, cleaned and chopped
Instructions
1
Preheat your oven to 'Broil' mode at a high temperature of 500 degrees Fahrenheit (260 degrees Celsius).
2
Dust the tenderloins generously with a mixture of salt, pepper, and garlic powder. Wrap each filet tightly with slices of bacon, securing it firmly in place using a toothpick. Place the tenderloins on a broiling pan and subject them to high heat, cooking for approximately 8-10 minutes per side until they reach your desired level of doneness, which is medium rare.
3
Meanwhile, melt 1/4 cup of butter in a saucepan over moderate heat while it's simmering. Add 1/2 teaspoon of Old Bay seasoning to the melted butter and stir until well combined. Introduce chopped lobster meat into the mixture, cooking it until it's fully cooked.
4
Transfer the cooked tenderloins to a serving dish and spoon the lobster meat over them. Return the tenderloins to the oven for an additional period of time, allowing the lobster meat to start browning.
5
In a separate saucepan, heat the remaining 1/4 cup of butter over high heat until it turns a rich brown color, similar to that of a hazelnut.
6
To serve, place the cooked tenderloins on a plate and spoon the browned butter over them. Sprinkle a pinch of the remaining Old Bay seasoning on top for added flavor.
