  • 1 pound fresh asparagus, trimmed
  • 1 medium shallot, thinly sliced
  • salt and ground black pepper to taste
  • 1 tablespoon grated Parmesan cheese

Heat a skillet over medium heat, then introduce bacon into it and stir constantly until it reaches a crispy state, approximately 5 minutes later. Remove excess fat from the skillet.

Add butter to the same skillet and allow it to soften, then incorporate asparagus and shallot into the mixture. Season with salt and pepper according to your taste, then cover the skillet and continue cooking occasionally until the asparagus is tender, roughly 5 minutes later.
