Ingredients
- 12 slices bacon
- 1 cup shredded Swiss cheese
- 1/3 cup minced onion
- 1 (9 inch) prepared pie crust
- 2 cups light cream
- 4 large eggs, beaten
- 3/4 teaspoon salt
- 1/4 teaspoon white sugar
- 1/8 teaspoon cayenne pepper
Instructions
1
Preheat your oven to a high temperature of 425 degrees Fahrenheit or 220 degrees Celsius.
2
Take a large skillet and cook the bacon over a medium-high heat source, stirring occasionally until it is uniformly browned, approximately 10 minutes. Remove the cooked bacon from the skillet and gently pat it dry with paper towels before chopping into coarse pieces.
3
Add the chopped bacon, shredded Swiss cheese, and sliced onion to a pre-made pastry crust.
4
Mix together the heavy cream, eggs, salt, sugar, and cayenne pepper in a medium-sized bowl; pour the mixture into the pastry crust.
5
Place the quiche in the preheated oven and bake for 15 minutes. Lower the oven temperature to a moderate heat of 300 degrees Fahrenheit or 150 degrees Celsius and continue baking until a knife inserted one inch from the edge comes out clean, roughly 30 minutes.
6
Allow the quiche to rest for 10 minutes before cutting it into wedges.
