  • 1/4 cup olive oil
  • 8 slices bacon, cut into 1/4 inch pieces
  • 4 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1/2 cup chopped fresh flat-leaf parsley

Fill a large pot with water that has been lightly seasoned with salt and bring it to a vigorous boil over extremely high heat. Introduce the spaghetti into the pot and return it to a rolling boil. Cook the pasta uncovered, occasionally stirring it with a spoon, until it reaches the desired level of tenderness but still retains some firmness in the center, approximately 12 minutes. Remove excess water from the pasta by pouring it into a colander placed in the sink.

In a large skillet, heat oil over medium heat. Introduce the bacon into the skillet and cook until it starts to shrink in size, about 3 minutes. Add garlic to the skillet and continue cooking and stirring until the garlic is softened, and the bacon has turned crispy, approximately 5 minutes.

Combine the cooked spaghetti with the bacon, oil, and chopped parsley to create a well-coated pasta dish; serve immediately.
