Ingredients
- 3 tablespoons salted butter, softened
- 4 hamburger buns, split
- 8 slices thick-cut bacon
- 1 1/2 pounds lean ground beef
- 2 tablespoons Worcestershire sauce
- 1 tablespoon steak seasoning
- 4 slices Cheddar cheese
- 4 large eggs
- 4 large lettuce leaves
- 1/2 red onion, thinly sliced
- 2 avocados - peeled, pitted, and thinly sliced
Instructions
1
Preheat your outdoor grill to a medium-high heat level and lightly coat the grill grates with oil. Spread butter evenly on each hamburger bun half.
2
Cook thick-cut bacon slices in a heavy skillet over medium-high heat, stirring occasionally, until they reach your desired level of crispiness, approximately 10 to 12 minutes. Remove the cooked bacon from the skillet with a slotted spoon and set it aside, reserving the grease.
3
In a large bowl, mix together ground beef, Worcestershire sauce, and steak seasoning until just combined. Be careful not to overmix the ingredients. Form the mixture into 4 patties and gently press a small indentation in the center of each patty to prevent it from shrinking during cooking.
4
Place the patties on the preheated grill and cook until they reach your desired level of doneness, around 6 minutes per side. Use an instant-read thermometer to check the internal temperature of the patties, aiming for at least 160 degrees F (71 degrees C). Keep the grill burning steadily throughout.
5
Place a cooked patty on each hamburger bun half and top it with 2 strips of crispy bacon, a slice of melted Cheddar cheese, and close the grill lid. Cook for an additional minute or until the cheese is melted and bubbly. Remove the patties from the grill and keep it running.
6
Place the hamburger buns on the preheated grill, buttered-side down, and cook until they're toasted to your liking, about 1 minute. Remove the buns from the grill and place a cooked patty on each bottom half.
7
Reheat the reserved bacon grease in the skillet over medium-high heat. Crack eggs into the skillet and cook until the whites are set but the yolks remain runny, approximately 4 minutes. Place a cooked egg on top of each patty and complete the burgers with lettuce, onion, avocado, and the top buns.
