- 1/3 cup sliced almonds
- 2 tablespoons minced garlic
- 4 pounds Brussels sprouts, trimmed and thinly sliced
- 2 tablespoons red wine vinegar
- salt and pepper to taste

Cook the bacon in a substantial, deep frying pan over an intermediate heat setting until it has turned a golden brown and is crispy in texture, approximately 5 to 10 minutes. Use a serving utensil with holes to transfer the bacon to a plate lined with paper towels; set it aside temporarily.

Add sliced almonds and minced garlic to the remaining oil in the frying pan; cook for a short time over an intermediate heat setting until they have turned lightly toasted. Add the Brussels sprouts; quickly mix them with the remaining oil to coat evenly. Sprinkle a small amount of red wine vinegar over the sprouts; mix them again to coat evenly. Cook, stirring constantly, until the sprouts have wilted and lost their crisp texture. Remove from heat source.

Stir in the cooked bacon; season with a pinch of salt and a few grinds of black pepper.
