Baba Marbled Cake

  • 3 tablespoons vegetable oil
  • 1 1/2 cups superfine sugar
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla sugar
  • 1 1/2 cups self-rising flour
  • 1 tablespoon unsweetened cocoa powder

Preheat your oven to 350 degrees Fahrenheit or 175 degrees Celsius.

Next, take a 2 liter baba pan or a 9 inch Bundt pan and give it a light coating of butter or cooking spray to prevent the cake from sticking.

In a large mixing container, whisk together eggs, oil, fine sugar and vanilla extract until well combined.

Using an electric mixer on high speed, blend the ingredients for approximately 5 minutes.

Gradually add flour to the mixture and continue blending until just combined.

Set aside a quarter of the batter, leaving it untouched for now.

Pour the remaining cake mixture into your prepared baking pan.

In a separate bowl, mix cocoa powder with the reserved batter until well combined.

Using a spoon, drop small amounts of the cocoa mixture onto the cake batter in the pan.

To achieve a marbled effect, use a skewer or the tip of a knife to gently swirl the two mixtures together.
