Ingredients
- 2 tablespoons vegetable oil
- 1/2 onion, sliced
- 3 cloves garlic, sliced
- 1 large skinless, boneless chicken breast, cut into 1-inch pieces
- 1/4 cup oyster sauce
- 3 tablespoons soy sauce
- 1 pinch white sugar
- 2 small chile peppers, sliced
- 1/3 cup water
- 1/2 cup fresh basil leaves

Preheat the cooking vessel by heating oil over a moderate flame. Introduce the onion and garlic into the pan; cook and blend until aromatic, approximately 30 seconds. Introduce the chicken to the pan; cook and blend until it loses its pink hue, roughly 5 minutes. Introduce the oyster sauce, soy sauce, and sugar into the pan; blend until well combined. Introduce the chile peppers to the pan; combine with the other ingredients. Add water to the pan and cook until it reaches a slightly syrupy consistency, 3 to 5 minutes. Just before serving, add the basil leaves into the pan and serve.
