- 1/4 cup white sugar
- 1/4 cup soy sauce
- 1/4 cup water
- 2 green onions, chopped
- 3 tablespoons sesame oil
- 1 tablespoon minced garlic
- 1 1/2 teaspoons sesame seeds
- 1 teaspoon ground black pepper
- 2 pounds short ribs

Combine cola, white sugar, soy sauce, water, green onions, sesame oil, garlic, sesame seeds, and black pepper in a bowl until the ingredients are fully incorporated and the marinade is smooth.

Place short ribs in a sealed container and pour in the marinade, making sure to coat the meat evenly. Remove as much air as possible from the container before sealing it tightly. Refrigerate for at least 2 hours to allow the flavors to meld.

Preheat an outdoor grill to medium-high heat and lightly brush the grates with oil. Remove the short ribs from the marinade, discarding any remaining liquid.

Cook the short ribs over medium-high heat until they are nicely browned and cooked to your desired level of doneness, 3-4 minutes per side. Use an instant-read thermometer to check the internal temperature of the meat, aiming for 145 degrees F (63 degrees C).
