Ingredients
- cooking spray
- 3 cups all-purpose flour
- 1 1/2 teaspoons baking soda
- 1 teaspoon fine sea salt
- 1/2 teaspoon ground allspice
- 1/2 teaspoon ground cinnamon
- 1/2 teaspoon ground cloves
- 1 cup turbinado sugar
- 1 cup grapeseed oil
- 3 large eggs, lightly beaten
- 3 cups peeled and finely chopped Bartlett pears
- 1 cup chopped pecans
Instructions
1
Preheat your oven to 350 degrees Fahrenheit (175 degrees Celsius), ensuring it reaches the desired temperature before proceeding.
2
Next, take a 9-inch fluted tube pan and give it a light coating of cooking spray to prevent the cake from sticking. A gentle dusting of flour will also help with this process.
3
Meanwhile, combine the following dry ingredients in a bowl: flour, baking soda, sea salt, allspice, cinnamon, and cloves. Mix these ingredients together until they are well combined.
4
In a separate bowl, use an electric mixer to cream together sugar and grapeseed oil until you achieve a smooth consistency. Then, incorporate eggs into the mixture, stirring until they are fully incorporated.
5
Now, gradually add the flour mixture to the sugar mixture, blending until a smooth batter forms. Stir in pears and continue mixing until the batter is well combined.
6
Using an electric mixer, blend the batter for approximately 3 minutes until it reaches a thickened consistency. After that, manually fold in pecans into the batter and mix until they are fully incorporated.
7
Pour the prepared batter into your 9-inch fluted tube pan and bake in a preheated oven until a toothpick inserted into the center of the cake comes out clean, taking around 50 to 60 minutes.
8
Once the cake is done baking, loosen it from the pan by running a knife gently along the edge of the cake and pan. Allow the cake to cool in the pan for 20 minutes before transferring it to a cake plate.
9
Finally, place an inverted cake plate on top of the cake and flip the pan over to turn the cake onto the plate, revealing your beautifully baked dessert.
