Ingredients
- 2 cups water
- 1 cup uncooked white rice
- 2 1/2 cups milk
- 2 tablespoons white sugar, or to taste
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1 cinnamon stick
Instructions
1
Combine water and uncooked white rice in a large container. Allow the rice to rehydrate, preferably for at least 30 minutes.
2
Place the water and rice in a saucepan over high heat. Gradually decrease the heat to a lower setting, cover with a lid, and cook until the rice is fully cooked and most of the liquid has been absorbed, approximately 20 to 25 minutes.
3
Stir milk, granulated sugar, salt, and a cinnamon stick into the saucepan. Continue to cook until the mixture has thickened and achieved a pudding-like consistency, around 20 minutes. Remove the cinnamon stick before presenting the dish.
