- 2 cups water
- 1/2 teaspoon dried parsley flakes
- 1 pinch saffron threads
- 3 drops yellow food coloring

Preheat the saucepan over medium heat and melt the butter. Introduce the onion into the pan, stirring constantly until it has lost its initial firmness and turned a pale shade of white, approximately 5 minutes.

Gradually decrease the heat to medium-low and continue cooking the onion with consistent stirring until it has become extremely tender, almost caramelized in color, taking around 20-25 minutes longer.

Add the rice to the saucepan and mix it well with the onion.

Combine the water, parsley flakes, saffron, and a hint of yellow food coloring if desired into the pan.

Lower the heat, cover the saucepan with a lid, and let it simmer until all the liquid has been absorbed, taking roughly 30 minutes.
