Armenian Flatbread

  • 2 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 teaspoon white sugar
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 2/3 cup water
  • 1 egg white
  • 2 tablespoons butter, melted
  • 2 egg whites, beaten
  • 2 tablespoons sesame seeds

Preheat your oven to a high temperature of 400 degrees Fahrenheit (200 degrees Celsius).

Take a large mixing container and combine the dry ingredients, including flour, sugar, and salt. Gradually add in water, 1 egg white, and melted butter; blend the mixture thoroughly to form a solid dough. Continue kneading until the dough becomes even and smooth, approximately 5 minutes.

Divide the dough into 10 equal portions. On a lightly floured surface, flatten each portion into an extremely thin sheet. Place the sheets on an ungreased baking tray. Brush with a beaten egg white and sprinkle with sesame seeds.

Place the prepared baking sheets in your preheated oven for 10 to 12 minutes, or until they have turned a golden brown color.
