  • 3 cups canola oil for frying
  • 2 green plantains, peeled and shredded
  • 2 teaspoons garlic salt

Preheat a deep-frying device or large cooking vessel to a high temperature of 375 degrees Fahrenheit (or 190 degrees Celsius). Collect approximately 2 tablespoons of shredded plantains and mold them into flat, round shapes.

Dip the formed patties into hot oil that has been heated to the optimal temperature, until they achieve a golden brown color and crispy exterior, approximately 10 minutes. Remove the fried patties from the oil using paper towels to drain excess moisture and sprinkle with garlic-flavored seasoning.
