Ingredients
- 10 egg yolks
- 1 (14 ounce) can sweetened condensed milk
- 1 (12 ounce) can evaporated milk
- 3 tablespoons margarine
- 3 tablespoons brown sugar
Instructions
1
Combine the egg yolks, sweetened condensed milk, and evaporated milk in a bowl; reserve.
2
Melt the margarine in a small saucepan over medium heat and stir constantly until it has melted. Add the brown sugar to the saucepan and continue stirring until it is fully incorporated, creating a smooth mixture.
3
Spread an even layer of sugar at the bottom of a pie dish, then pour in the custard mixture. Cover with aluminum foil.
4
Place a large pot filled three-quarters of the way with water on the stove and bring it to a gentle boil.
5
Carefully position the pie dish over the simmering water, ensuring it is fully submerged. Cook for 65-70 minutes or until the flan has set firmly.
6
Remove the pie dish from the boiling water and let it cool for at least 30 minutes before serving.
7
To serve, gently pry the flan away from the pie dish by running a knife around its edges.
8
Flip the flan onto a serving plate and serve at room temperature or chilled.
