Ingredients
- 2 tablespoons flour
- 1 1/2 teaspoons dried sage
- 1 teaspoon minced garlic
- 1 teaspoon ground thyme
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 1/2 teaspoon ground allspice
- 1/2 teaspoon paprika
- 4 boneless pork chops
- 2 tablespoons olive oil
- 1 onion, thinly sliced
- 2 red apples, thinly sliced
- 1/2 cup apple juice
- 1 tablespoon brown sugar
Instructions
1
Combine flour, sage, garlic, thyme, salt, allspice, and paprika in a bowl.
2
Sprinkle approximately one tablespoon of the flour mixture evenly onto both sides of each pork chop.
3
Heat a generous amount of olive oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat.
4
Cook the pork chops in the hot oil until they are nicely browned on both sides, taking an additional 2 to 3 minutes.
5
Transfer the pork chops to a serving platter.
6
Sauté sliced onions in the remaining oil and any accumulated drippings from the skillet until they are tender, approximately 3 minutes.
7
Add sliced apples to the skillet and continue cooking until they are tender, roughly 2 minutes.
8
Pour apple juice over the onion and apple mixture; add brown sugar and the remaining flour mixture, stirring until it dissolves completely.
9
Return the pork chops to the skillet.
10
Bring the liquid mixture to a boil, then reduce heat to low and cook at a gentle simmer until the pork is no longer pink in the center, approximately 5 minutes.
11
Use an instant-read thermometer to check the internal temperature of the pork, aiming for 145 degrees F (63 degrees C).
